SUMMER TERM 2008
AT HAVEN
CHILDREN’S CENTRE
Family Learning and Development
A wide range of courses for adults are available including First Aid
and NVQ’s in Business Admin and Children’s Care, Learning and
Development. Our joint
workshops and courses provide opportunities for children and
families to play and learn together.
Our employment support service includes regular visits from Job
CentrePlus offering advice on training, vacancies and benefits.
Family and Parenting Support
Our family support service aims to provide the support that families
themselves say they need.
Our outreach workers are available to work with families on
an individual basis in their own homes or through groups to provide
advice, support and guidance on a range of issues connected with
being a parent, including behaviour management, child development
and general parenting.
They can also put parents in touch with other organisations who
provide support on more specific issues.
Our maternity services include a weekly drop-in Health Visitor
clinic, baby group, baby massage and ‘Life with Baby’ Classes.
We aim for the additional services we offer to be responsive to
local need, and regularly consult and evaluate them with our service
users.
Further detailed information is available from Centre Staff on 01329
